Meet our retirement planning team

Rick Durkee, our founder and chief retirement planning specialist

Rick Durkee, Retirement Income Planning Specialist

Rick Durkee, founder and president of Coastal Financial Planning Group, has served in leadership roles in the financial services industry for more than 20 years.

After serving in leadership positions for many years at Prudential Insurance, New York Life, and MetLife and earning his designation as a Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow (LUTCF), Rick returned to his original love: meeting with clients as their retirement advisor, helping them plan for their longevity and enjoyment of life after retirement. In 2003, he founded Coastal Financial Planning Group to offer advanced retirement planning to baby boomers and others saving and investing for retirement. In 2012, he added his services as a Horter Investment Management LLC Investment Advisor Representative for Coastal Financial Planning Group clients.

Today, Coastal Financial Planning Group is unique in the field of financial wealth management as Rick and his team concentrate solely on wealth allocation and distribution for its retirement income planning clients. They help their clients face retirement's three biggest challenges: protecting their life savings, paying less in taxes, and passing on a financial legacy in the most efficient manner possible.
